Weeeelllll goodness ME!!! I haven't posted in quite some time now! Arianne told me on Monday to post about my trip to Shuswap. I said it would take me a while then she asked if I was busy all week or something. I said no, it's just that my pictures take forever to upload and everything. Turns out I actually was pretty busy this week! I have been cleaning houses all week! So now, here I am, Friday evening, writing the post that wasn't supposed to take me this long haha. At least I uploaded all the pics on Monday!
Sooooooo.....on August 12th, my band had a gig at around 11:00pm or so and Burns and I pretty much pulled an all-nighter. Why??? Because we had to get up super early to go clean a gymnasium *cough*cough*be-there-at-5:00am*cough*. So I guess I slept like an hour while Burns packed for our upcoming adventures. He caught about a half an hour and then we were off! To Airdrie!!! We cleaned until around 7:00am then left for Beautiful British Columbia......then we stopped in between Banff and Lake Louise and slept in the car haha. We were planning on going to Burns' cousins' wedding but we couldn't keep our thoughts from entering dream land - and we all know how safe that is on the road!
At around 10:00 or 11:00am I started driving while Burns slept in the passenger seat. We arrived at Sicamous at around 5:00 and decided it would be a little pointless to travel another 2 hours to Kelowna when all the events were already done. We agreed to go to the nice beach.
First thing to do is bridge jump of course! I also jumped off of this bridge. It took me forever to get the courage to do it, but I would have been disappointed in myself if I hadn't.
We partied it up on the beach (which dogs weren't allowed on but we couldn't let Kobe die in the sweltering car!) until about 7:00. We got some supper at Askew's then Rick's daughter came to get us (by boat) from the cabin at around 9:00.
The next morning was beautiful so Burns and Kobe went for a little canoe ride. Speaking of binoculars, have you ever seen Burns'? They're out of this world!!! I'm so punny.
These are not Burns' binos. |
THESE are Burns' binos! |
Have you ever heard what these things sound like? Check it!
Burns' and I got our "deep sea diving" gear on and had a blast in the wa wa.
I want you to join us underwater by watching this video:
Remember Burns' binos? You can actually see craters on the moon with them. See for yourself!
This was taken through his binos with my camera zoomed in. |
And a Shuswap trip is never complete without some wake boarding!
We traveled to a far away beach to go on a great little hike. This was the same hike as we did last year. That was the time when we went on the hike, came back, and all the house boats and everyone else was gone because there was a bear nearby! There were no bear sightings this year thankfully. We got to spend an hour or so on the beach this time.
On our way to the beach. |
On the trail. |
Denise didn't want me to put this up, but I couldn't resist because these two are just so cute together! |
Oskar was such a good Kobe-walker! He was so nice to Kobe. |
Rick's daughter's family, the Russells. |
On the mossy forest floor. |
Lucy at the beach. |
I left Kobe in the boat to look after Burns while I sun-bathed. It was so nice to be on the dock, in the sun, and listening to some great i-Pod tunes.
On our way home, Burns and I stopped at the .. spiral tunnels? That's how exciting it was...can't even remember the name for sure.
Can you see the 1908 tunnel? |
Here it is! Through Burns' binos of course. |
It was a great trip as usual. This was my third trip out there and I just can't get enough. I was sad to leave and I can't wait for next year!
its your 3rd trip out there..meaning you've been dating 3 years!!! Get married already. sheesh
ReplyDeleteFINALLY!!! I've been waiting all week for this! Nice moon capture BTW! You are getting so good at wake-boarding - you're practically jumping the wakes now! Looked like such a funsie trip!!
