i jumped on the red bandwagon

Hello. I am a brunette. See?
Look at me!

I have brown hair!

Well say goodbye.
Goodbye brown.
 The culprit:
Christine you be so evil with your newly cut, short, hot, sexy hair.

The process:

The being blonde:

I have blonde hair!
I will have to try being blonde for reals some time.

The end result:

SURPRISE!!!! I didn't even tell Burns that I was doing this! I told him I was "playing" with Christine at her house. Yes we were playing. Playing with the color of my hair!

I went to a YSA activity where people said one of three things:

"How Paramore of you."
"I LOVE it!"
"You have red hair!"

And a lot of people didn't mention it at all! But those were boys of course.

Hope you like cause I sure do!

a sunday dinner to remember

On Sunday I had the Biebers and Kutarnas over to have dinner with Burns and me. I made two new dishes from finecooking.com. They were so good!

Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf

Lemon-Raspberry Crostata
So anyways, moral of the story is if you are feeling adventurous and want to make something new and random, take a look-see at what finecooking has to offer.

And good news! I'm actually enjoying all five of my classes this semester! Usually I can't stand at least one of them so I'm really enjoying myself so far. Hopefully it stays like this cause, well let's face it, it has only been a week so far.

Happy week of September 19th everyone!

sandy beach picnic

Oh summer. How I love thee, but when all boyfriend and I do is sit around or have afternoon naps or do nothing for two weeks straight, I start to get a little bit restless, nay, crazy. I experience these emotions for one reason, summer. That reason is you. We should not be indoors on such beautiful days! Why is it that I would 100% rather be outside doing nothing than inside doing nothing? Maybe it's because I appreciate good weather. Something that one learns whilst living in Calgary is to appreciate good weather when it turns its wonderful face in your direction.

Seriously the best thing we did in those two weeks is shave Burns. We didn't really do anything else so I didn't really have anything to blog about. SO Burns noticed my distress (finally) and took me on a picnic! We went to Sandy Beach Park (I think) and it's super close to Mount Royal so Alex and Arianne if you haven't been you should really go. It's really nice there where you can play by the river.

Eating our huge sandwiches from The Lazy Loaf and Kettle. Super cute place by another super cute place called Extreme Bean Cafe. You should go to these two little places. Both are fantastic.

Then we hiked up the hill and we are so cute.

Other things of note the last few weeks of summer:

  • I beat Portal 2. Call me a nerd but that game is super fun!

  • I read all three books of the Inheritance Cycle to prepare for the 4th book coming out in November. Oh and did I mention that I have been waiting for the 4th book to come out for 3 YEARS???? Sheesh it better be good! I knew I wouldn't have time to read all the books during school so I had to do it during the summer.
  • Boonie started full time university! So proud. He is not officially an Engineering student yet but he will be in the winter! He's taking classes that will apply to his degree.
  • I went back to school for my fourth and final year here in Calgary. By June I will be a Linguist with a real Arts degree!

Upcoming things of note:

  • I am going to attend a conference on October 1st which is held for SLPs, graduate students, and undergraduate students who are looking to go into SLP (and really anyone who wants to attend). I'll be entered for a draw for the application fee to get into UofA. I hope I win it!
  • I'm going to be 21 next month. Time to go to Vegas and gamble all my money away just because it's legal now! YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

*The last bullet is highly sarcastic.
