brian and chris

Dear Brian and Chris,

Though we may be separated by roads and fields, you two are the roads of glory and the fields of joy in my heart. Both your eyes are my stars guiding me in the darkness of life without you. Your hair, the northern lights. Your teeth, pearls of grace. I miss you both my loves. Please play with me lots in the future.

Brian, you sexxxy beast. I miss gossiping talking with you about the people from your work and crazy people on the bus. I'm sure Bowness misses you as much as you miss it haha. You will be one FINE hairdresser (I know from experience - for example, when you did my hair for preference). I miss Peiko and Kobe misses you two like nothing else! I miss going to Bear's Paw with you ... and anywhere. You always managed to get Burns and me out of the house and I'm so thankful for that! Thanks for always telling me what looks good on me when I asked and keeping me fashion friendly. And thank you sooo much for being so supportive of Without the Fall. I appreciate you so much for coming out to a tonne of our shows. Miss you! Love you!

And Chris! Oh Chris you BABE. Even though you are moving out today, I miss you already. I miss hearing stories of crazy students. I miss you being at every single one of our concerts except one (and ps that better not change haha...but I understand if it has to because you are going to live sooo far away!). I miss our runs in Bowness park, even though that only happened once, I still miss it. I miss your loudness. You are so generous and so kind - stay that way or else. Thanks for cutting and dying my hair. I will call you to do it more in the future, you can count on that. Kobe will miss snuggling with you in the mornings. I'm going to miss watching Supernatural with you. Miss you. Love you!

This post is dedicated to all our adventures,

 to our friendship,

to our weirdness and craziness,

to long-boarding,

to us.

I love you both so much!!! Piece out sistas!

Love Paige.

polish parties and shaving shenanigans

When Breanne still lived here, (oh by the way I have a new roomie - Megan Penny) our downstairs neighbors had a party. This wasn't just any party. This was a Polish birthday party held in honor of Tetanyana. She is seriously sooo nice and she loves Peiko and Kobe. Anyways, Breanne had the great idea of all of us (her, me, Marshie, and Burns) to go outside and sing Happy Birthday to her. Burns busted out a guitar and we serenaded her with her husband and friends all joining in. They insisted we join them for cake, which we did so with much delight. So if you want to know how to throw a great Polish B-day Bash, you need 3 things.

1. A blow-torch as a lighter.

2. A great cake made by a great friend.

3. The upstairs neighbors!!!

Just find yourself those three things and you will be set.

They wanted us to have some of their wine and they were so persistent but so nice about it. I was sad not to take it because they were being very generous. I hope we didn't offend them....   :S

So yesterday I shaved Burns. This is before:

 This is in the process:

And this is not quite after, but you get the idea of what after looks like:

And this is all his hair:

I know some of you may think I'm crazy for saying this, but I actually kind of miss the boy's hair. Good thing it grows back haha...no pun intended.

another year, another trip to shuswap

Weeeelllll goodness ME!!! I haven't posted in quite some time now! Arianne told me on Monday to post about my trip to Shuswap. I said it would take me a while then she asked if I was busy all week or something. I said no, it's just that my pictures take forever to upload and everything. Turns out I actually was pretty busy this week! I have been cleaning houses all week! So now, here I am, Friday evening, writing the post that wasn't supposed to take me this long haha. At least I uploaded all the pics on Monday!

Sooooooo.....on August 12th, my band had a gig at around 11:00pm or so and Burns and I pretty much pulled an all-nighter. Why??? Because we had to get up super early to go clean a gymnasium *cough*cough*be-there-at-5:00am*cough*. So I guess I slept like an hour while Burns packed for our upcoming adventures. He caught about a half an hour and then we were off! To Airdrie!!! We cleaned until around 7:00am then left for Beautiful British Columbia......then we stopped in between Banff and Lake Louise and slept in the car haha. We were planning on going to Burns' cousins' wedding but we couldn't keep our thoughts from entering dream land - and we all know how safe that is on the road!

At around 10:00 or 11:00am I started driving while Burns slept in the passenger seat. We arrived at Sicamous at around 5:00 and decided it would be a little pointless to travel another 2 hours to Kelowna when all the events were already done. We agreed to go to the nice beach.

First thing to do is bridge jump of course! I also jumped off of this bridge. It took me forever to get the courage to do it, but I would have been disappointed in myself if I hadn't.

We partied it up on the beach (which dogs weren't allowed on but we couldn't let Kobe die in the sweltering car!) until about 7:00. We got some supper at Askew's then Rick's daughter came to get us (by boat) from the cabin at around 9:00.

The next morning was beautiful so Burns and Kobe went for a little canoe ride. Speaking of binoculars, have you ever seen Burns'? They're out of this world!!! I'm so punny.

These are not Burns' binos.
THESE are Burns' binos!
So the next few days were full of swimming, canoeing, snorkeling, and...catching toads!!!

Have you ever heard what these things sound like? Check it!

Burns' and I got our "deep sea diving" gear on and had a blast in the wa wa.

I want you to join us underwater by watching this video:

Remember Burns' binos? You can actually see craters on the moon with them. See for yourself!

This was taken through his binos with my camera zoomed in.
With such great weather, what can you do but swim? Even little Kobster joined us...through force, but joined us nonetheless!

And a Shuswap trip is never complete without some wake boarding!

We traveled to a far away beach to go on a great little hike. This was the same hike as we did last year. That was the time when we went on the hike, came back, and all the house boats and everyone else was gone because there was a bear nearby! There were no bear sightings this year thankfully. We got to spend an hour or so on the beach this time.

On our way to the beach.

On the trail.

Denise didn't want me to put this up, but I couldn't resist because these two are just so cute together!

Oskar was such a good Kobe-walker! He was so nice to Kobe.

Rick's daughter's family, the Russells.

On the mossy forest floor.

Lucy at the beach.
On our last night there, Burns slept in the boat so I decided to do the following:

I left Kobe in the boat to look after Burns while I sun-bathed. It was so nice to be on the dock, in the sun, and listening to some great i-Pod tunes.

On our way home, Burns and I stopped at the .. spiral tunnels? That's how exciting it was...can't even remember the name for sure.

Can you see the 1908 tunnel?
Here it is! Through Burns' binos of course.

It was a great trip as usual. This was my third trip out there and I just can't get enough. I was sad to leave and I can't wait for next year!
