On Monday, July 1st, we all went out to the famous Raymond parade! The best part was watching all my nieces and nephews run for the candy that was thrown. After the parade we went to Uncle Val's for our annual family potluck.
It was so hot out! I knew it would be. I even had a bet with Burns before we came down. He thought it would be windy out but I was pretty certain that it would be stifling with not even a breeze. I was right. It was so hot, in fact, that we had to go bridge jumping! We knew the popular bridges would be over-populated on a day like that day, so we went to the culvert.
I think Brad was the first to brave the jump.
Maverick of course had to jump in after his master.
Then Marshie showed off his moves.
Then father with a big splash and Alex watching on the sidelines.
More flips and such from the boys:
Poor Cassi. When she finally decided to jump in, Marshall pushed her in.
Oh yeah. Joe was there too!
Kobe couldn't stop rolling around in the dirt when he was wet. He just can't stand water. The poor pup got so dirty we had to take him in again one last time just to clean him off.
Alex and Carol never jumped in but they did float through the culvert a couple times.
The Biebers and the Kutarna girls were all taking a nap so they didn't join us. Apparently everyone went again after Burns and I left for Calgary.
Magwick all tuckered out. I've never seen him so calm.
Burns and I left at around 5:00 because he had to leave to go to Edmonton and then be in Lloydminster at 10am the next day. Poor Boonie. It turned out that he couldn't even complete all the jobs he had up there so it was kind of a complete waste.
On Tuesday I took Kobe for a walk in Bowmont Park. The same park that was super flooded. It was crazy to see some things. Like this tree on the bridge for example:
And tonnes of dried out leaves and mud caked onto the fences.
And bushes that were upright before the flood are now bent over.
And just to end off on a happy note, here is a cute picture of Kobe:
Kobe sleeping like a human. I had nothing to do with the set up. |
Yikes! The aftermath in Bowmont is crazy! I suppose it could have been worst. Kind of neat to see though.
