I love our earth, it's the only one we've got.
I try to be good to it by recycling and re-using.
I wish everyone on Earth would appreciate what we have here.
Carl Sagan puts what I'm trying to say here so poetically, so I think he should take it away from here:
I invited the Biebers, Kutarnas, Marshall, Carol, and Burns to our own little celebration of Earth Hour. We lit candles and ate cake batter ice cream (thanks Biebs!) and chocolate dipped strawberries (thanks Carol!) by the soft glow of tea lights.
PS - "60+" means 60 minutes or more of no power. |

The next day I heard one of the X92.9 hosts saying that he forgot about Earth Hour like everyone else in Calgary. He then went off on a tangent about how shutting off a few lights for an hour won't make a difference in how much energy we consume.
He obviously missed the point.
The point is to raise awareness. The point is to bring people together for a good cause. The point is to think about how much we can do to help sustain our planet.
Not only did I shut off all my lights, I unplugged my constantly plugged in computer, clock, and microwave. If everyone in Calgary unplugged things that are constantly plugged in, I'm sure it would make at least a little bit of a difference.
Anyways, I love Earth and I loved our Earth Hour.
Thanks for coming everyone!
Amen to that!! I can hardly believe that that radio actually allowed their hosts to give such a lame opinion as that one. Sad.
ReplyDeleteGood for you guys! It IS true that every little bit counts. It's got to start somewhere. Awareness is huge. ; )
